Nano Brow Tattoo Aftercare

Everyone heals differently, follow these steps for best results:

The day of the treatment, after your appointment:

Gently blot the area with clean tissue to absorb any excess lymph fluid. Do this a few times an hour until lymph flow has stopped. Doing this prevents a lymph crust forming.

Days 1-7:

Wash daily to remove bacteria and dead skin (Don't worry....THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT).Gently wipe your eyebrows each morning and night with water. With a light touch, use a q-tip to gently cleanse the eyebrows. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic or salicylic etc), or any other exfoliants.

Apply a rice grain amount of the aftercare ointment provided with a q-tip and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Never put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.

The above steps should have you covered, but here are some extra ideals to help with a smooth and easy heal:

  • Use a fresh pillowcase

  • Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color

  • No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks post brow tattoo

  • Avoid hot, sweaty exercise that causes excess redness in the face for one week - you don’t want to reopen the skin, be mindful of your exertion level.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after procedure. Wear a hat / large sunglasses to cast a shadow over the tattoo.

  • Avoid long hot showers for the first 10 days.

  • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days

  • Avoid swimming, lakes, hot tubs for the first 10 days

  • Avoid topical makeup including sunscreen on the area while healing

  • DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area.

Important note about showering: Do not create too much steam, 5 minute shower maximum. Keep your face/procedure out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair. Your face should only be getting slightly wet at the very end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.

  • Apply SPF daily over the pigment

  • Remove foundation that covers the pigment making it look dull

  • Gentle manual exfoliation occasionally to keep them bright and not hidden under dead skin

  • Avoid resurfacing products directly on the pigmented skin (retinol, glycolic etc)

  • At the point when you start wanting to add make up to them daily or the colour’s not as you want it reach out for your refresher/annual appointment. For more insight into the ongoing maintenance of a brow tattoo read here
