The Neck Loop Method
This method can be preferred for individuals with bigger hands as an alternate to the figure 8 method.
You'll start by creating a loop around your neck ... with another fiddly knot!
Hold the thread spool in your non dominant hand
With the dominant hand hooked over the length beyond the knot pull the thread out to almost arms length
With the non dominant index finger reach across, hook the drawn out length to almost close off a ‘loop’ and then twist dominant hand three times to get the ‘figure 8’ again.
You can now drop the hook of the index finger
Hold tension through thread spool hand and the dominant hand to keep the twisted thread ‘active’
To move the twist you can now open and close fingers on dominant hand and/or slightly move neck toward and away from the twist.
You may want to re watch this a few times to get the hang of it!
